"I'm very excited about joining together with the City of High Point to celebrate our 150th Birthday." states Roger Sims, 2009 Leapin' Lizard Chair. "With 2009 being the Year of Celebration for the City, the HP Chamber of Commerce and the HP Market Authority, this partnership makes perfect sense. Another appropriate change is in the race course itself. .. Instead of running on the streets of Piedmont Centre, runners will have the pleasure of racing along the beautiful Bicentennial Greenway.
Both 5K and 10K will be an "Out and Back" on the famous paved path over the river and through the woods. Runners and walkers will enjoy the sounds of the stream and the peaceful scenery of High Point's best kept secret. Anyone wanting a fun, flat, family-friendly event should make sure to be on hand for this year's Leapin' Lizard race."
